This painting depicts the blue tit who makes his home in the garden, chiding us with an emphatic warning as we trespass into what he clearly considers his territory. Small yet fiercely brave, he embodies a much larger message about humanity’s encroachment on natural habitats. His call becomes both personal and universal—a reminder that we are a part of a world that does not belong solely to us.

About this Artist
About this Artist
Simon is based in Cornwall, and for over thirty years his practice has moved between dance and visual art. His background in choreography continues to shape how he paints: each work is approached as a form of choreography, a dynamic relationship between space, time and energy. He is currently exhibiting with us in the new show 'Evoke.'
Trained initially in visual art and later in contemporary dance, he has always worked across disciplines, creating and presenting work in galleries, theatres and outdoor environments. Simon sees his artwork as part of a continuous exchange between the visual and the kinetic.
This exhibition brings together paintings from several collections, created over time and in dialogue with one another. Land and seascapes are central to his work. These recurring themes, and in some pieces birds, reflect both a deep love of the natural world and an ongoing concern for its fragility. Movement, mindfulness and close attention to nature underpin his practice, and through his work Simon invites a deeper awareness of place and a renewed sense of connection, respect and care for the world we inhabit.
