Olive ash lidded pot by Paul Dance. This blue lidded pot catches the light beautifully. The hand carved lid is inspired by gentle waves on the surface of the sea shimmering in the moonlight. The grain underneath gives it a wonderful depth suggesting changing tides and a world below.
The pot itself is hand turned, stained in a deep blue and then gently rubbed with a light blue wax to pick out the wood grain. This is finished with a wonderful contrasting red rim which is echoed in the lid.

Paul has been working with wood for over 10 years, and is now developing his own individual style, experimenting with various ways of colouring and texturing, he is inspired by the purity of nature. The magnificence of a tree inspires him to show the natural beauty of wood. No two pieces will ever be the same, even if the shape is similar the grain will make sure it’s different.
He has sold his work to private collectors in Japan, Australia, USA and recently Israel.
