Ochre Brush Mug
Ochre Brush Mug
Kate Welton's classic mug design, gently tapering towards the top to keep your cuppa nice and toasty.
Decorated in Kate's ‘Ochre Brush’ design, the natural colour of the clay contrasts beautifully with the earthy green and yellow slip below. The lower half of the mug is unglazed but polished, producing a wonderfully soft tactile finish.
Ergonomically pleasing to hold, with a spacious handle to protect your hands from the side of the mug when containing hot liquid.
Diameter approx 7cm
Height approx 9.5cm

About this Maker
Kate Welton is a potter based on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, a beautiful area with gently rolling farmland, and the most magnificent skies. Her collection of ceramics is wheel-thrown and decorated with coloured slips (liquid clay) in a variety of abstract designs.
Kate's Dad is, and grandfather was, a very keen vegetable grower, and during her degree she took inspiration for her surface designs from their treasured gardening tools. Kate still loves mark-making, but now her patterns evolve in a more intuitive way, by layering colour onto the clay’s surface, in a constant exploration of lines and circles.
