These elegant sterling silver leaf earrings are based on the shape of a willow leaf, and have a lovely subtle curve in the side profile. Louise has designed them so that the ‘stem’ of the leaf loops over to create the ear hook, so they hang beautifully when worn.
The finish she chose for the surface of these earrings is brushed silver as she feels it really shows off the soft organic form and elegant lines, and as an extra detail, the edges of the leaves have a bright finish which is achieved by burnishing the edges (rubbing along the edge with a burnishing tool made of polished steel) so when the earrings are worn the edges will catch the light in a subtle and lovely way.
These earrings measure approximately 4.5cm long (from the top of the hook to the bottom tip of the leaf) and are roughly 0.9cm wide.

Louise Mary grew up in rural north Herefordshire, and midway through high school, she attended an evening class making silver jewellery. She studied for a degree in Metalwork and Jewellery at Sheffield Hallam University and as part of the course she spent a semester at Kookmin University in Seoul, South Korea. Louise spent a year at the wonderful Bishopland Workshops near Reading and then started her business from her family home back in Herefordshire. Louise now works from her home studio in South Derbyshire.
