Tom Humphreys

Tom studied Art at college, although he made little use of it until beginning his career as a high end furniture restorer, where his understanding of colour proved invaluable. This expertise continued to serve him during his time living in France for 6 years. After returning to the UK, he resumed furniture restoration before moving into the specialist world of French antique stoves. After a botanical drawing course Tom has fallen back in love with drawing and drawn almost every day.

Beginning with studies of individual leaves, flowers, vegetables and other natural subjects, he has since developed a series of themed drawings featuring seasonal collections of plants and flowers gathered throughout the year. Each piece is named after the month in which its subjects were picked, celebrating the distinctive character and variety of each season.
