Rowena Park

Rowena has designed and made jewellery since leaving Brighton art college in 1982 and has continuously exhibited her work both locally and abroad.

Over the years she has developed a technique of working on the back of the clear acrylic as if working on glass, using hand cut stencils, free brush work, and combining transparent coloured glazes with 14 and 23.5 carat white and yellow gold leaf and using multi layering techniques. Resins protect the back surfaces from wear.

Inspiration comes from many sources – the candystripe range relating to the canvases of deck chairs and awnings to be found at the sea-side and being based in Brighton, there’s plenty of these to see!
