Catherine Flippence

Catherine Flippence is a English landscape artist, portrait painter and sculptor. Intuitively specialising in tonalism, her small jewel like paintings evoke a sense of tranquility and mystery through the subtle play of light and shadow.

Drawing inspiration from the natural world, Catherine skilfully uses a limited colour palette to create atmospheric scenes. Her mastery of tonal values produce paintings of timeless quality, capturing the essence of the landscape in a unique and way.

Catherine studied fine art in 1986 in Oxfordshire, and later in 1998 at the RA and Goldsmiths in London, her artwork has been exhibited in galleries gathering praise from art enthusiasts and collectors alike. She has had an extensive and varied career working in the creative industry. Her first job was as a jewellery designer, creating beautiful pieces in an exclusive high end jewellers. In 2014 she decided to change direction and paint commissions from her studio near Stonehenge.
